MB Architecture was invited to collaborate with interior design firm Hecker Guthrie on this Hawthorn Project which involved alterations and additions to an existing heritage dwelling for a young family.
The rear extension utilised recycled bricks to sympathetically reference the original frontage combining this with expansive north-facing arched steel-framed doors and windows to flood the kitchen, dining and living area with natural light whilst providing a connection to the carefully considered landscaping and feature pool.
A double-height central light court with a pitched glass roof connects the old with the new and introduces more natural light into the heart of the home.
The unique interior uses a restrained colour palette of grey marble and beautifully detailed cabinetry resulting in a covetable and calming space to occupy.
